Where To Swim Near Your City

Everyone loves summer, but on those hot and humid summer days we would all prefer to be near a body of water than stuck on dry land. BentallGreenOak Residential Services has a list of the best places to cool off and go for a swim in your city this summer.

One of the best places to go for a dip in Burlington is at Burlington Beach. You can go for a nice swim, go paddle boarding or rent paddle boats. You can also check out the new pool at Nelson Park, which is great for kids and families. It's located at 4235 New St.

Cool off this summer at Edworthy Park! This spot is a great place to go for a swim, have a picnic and enjoy the sunshine. The stoney beach is small and it can get pretty crowded, but it's still a great place to cool off. You can also check out the beach at Sikome Lake, which is probably one of the best in the city.

Go for a swim and ride the waves at World Waterpark in Edmonton! Not only is this a fun place for kids and families, but adults love it too. You can surf, go slideboarding or simply relax in the Blue Thunder Wave Pool. Food and drinks are also available onsite! If you prefer heading out to a beach instead, check out Allan Beach, but make sure to get there early to grab a good spot.

Hamilton is the perfect place to go if you're searching for a good place to swim. It's known as the city of waterfalls, so it's not hard to find a good place to cool off. Check out Webster's, Albion and Tiffany's Falls just to name a few. If you get bored of the waterfalls, head over to Confederation Beach where you can go for a swim and play some beach sports.

If you haven't been yet, visit the Idlewood Outdoor Pool. It's a community pool located in a quiet area, and it's ideal for kids and families. Another good option is Kiwanis Park and Pool. Here you can go for a swim, enjoy the scenic park or even go fishing and canoeing nearby.

There's no shortage of beaches near Langley. One of the best places to cool off this summer is at Brae Island Regional Park. It's only a 15-minute drive from the city, but it feels like you're in the wilderness. There is a nice sandy beach and picnic tables to use, so it's the perfect place to go for a day trip. Be sure to pack snacks and spend the entire day swimming and soaking up the sun. In just 45 minutes, you can reach Golden Ears Provincial Park. You can go for a swim in Alouette Lake while enjoying the views of the mountains in the background. You can also rent canoes and kayaks.

On a hot summer's day, there's no better place to cool off in Markham than at Morgan Pool. It's quiet, affordable and great for families. If you're adventurous and love nature, you can go for a hike and swim in the Rouge River.

When you're hoping for a beach day near Montreal, head over to Cap St. Jacques. It is the city's largest park and is known for beautiful fields, farmland and a sandy beach. Weekends tend to be really busy, so if you can go on a weekday, you'll avoid the crowds. Another option is Plage Doré, located only 5 minutes by car from downtown Montreal.

New Westminster

If you don't want to leave the city, Westminster Pier Park is the best place to cool off on a hot summer day. You can also drive 20 minutes to Barnet Marine Park and enjoy the beautiful lake with spectacular views. Be sure to pack some food for a picnic and don't forget to stay for the sunset!

North York

There are a few swimming pools worth visiting in North York. The Ledbury Outdoor Swimming Pool is relatively small and it doesn't get very busy, so if you're someone who prefers a less crowded place, this might be for you. Another option is the Oriole Swimming Pool which is very similar. It is located 6 minutes from the Oriole GO station.

When those temperatures rise again, head over to Bronte Beach Park in Oakville. It's a great place to go alone, with friends or even with your dog. Go for a swim, read a book or go for a stroll along the water. You can also visit Bronte Pool which is open all summer long!

St. Albert

Sometimes an outdoor pool is all you need. The Grosvenor Outdoor Pool is a great place to relax and have fun with your family. You can swim laps, lounge on the pool deck or munch on some snacks if you get hungry. There's never a dull moment at the Grosvenor Outdoor Pool.

Summers can be really hot in Toronto, but luckily there are many places to cool off. If you're looking for the perfect summer retreat, check out Woodbine Beach or Bluffer's Beach. Even though it can get crowded, the beaches are big enough to accommodate big crowds -- so you'll never feel like it's too packed. You can also check out Centre Island which is just a short ferry ride away from Harbourfront Centre. There are several beaches on the island as well as a small waterpark.

Vancouver has it all! Whether you're looking for a beach, lake or a pool to cool off in, this city has everything. A beach is probably the best place to go for a dip in Vancouver, so check out Kitsilano Beach or English Bay Beach. They are beautiful and popular with locals and tourists. If you can't sit still, you can rent some paddle boards, kayaks or almost any other water sport equipment. But if beaches aren't your favourite, you can also stop by the Kitsilano Pool. It's an outdoor, salt water swimming pool located near the beach.

Cool off this summer at Swimplex, Waterloo's swimming complex. You can enjoy the pool on your own or bring your kids with you so that they can enjoy the water slides, splash area and more. Swimplex is located at 101 Father David Bauer Dr. If you have access to a car, be sure to check out the Elora Gorge Conservation Area which is only 30 minutes away. It's a beautiful place to go for a swim or a fun tube ride down the river.
