Burlington, Hamilton and Oakville

If you live in the Burlington, Hamilton and Oakville area, be sure to head to Glen Eden to ski and snowboard this winter. The Glen Eden Ski & Snowboard Centre is located in the Niagara Escarpment in Milton, ON. It features six lifts, 15 slopes, and three terrain park runs. They are open seven days a week so you'll always be able to fit a visit into your schedule. If you're a newbie, they offer lessons and there are many beginner-friendly slopes for you to hit. Best of all they are there to serve you with season passes, lift tickets and equipment rentals.

If you're into skiing and snowboarding, Calgary is an amazing place to call home. There are so many world-class hills to visit and enjoy here. One of the closest and best places to go is Nakiska Mountain Resort. It features great groomer runs and is less than an hour by car from West Calgary. They also have a fun tube park that your kids will adore.

Edmonton and St. Albert

If you live in Edmonton or St. Albert, you're in luck. The area has so many fabulous options for skiing and snowboarding that you are really spoiled for choice here. If you want to stay close to the city, we recommend Rabbit Hill Snow Resort. It's the largest Capital Region ski and snowboard resort and is located only 15 minutes from Edmonton. This resort is situated in the scenic North Saskatchewan River Valley.

Kitchener and Waterloo

If you're located in Kitchener or Waterloo, be sure to pay a visit to Chicopee this season. Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort is one of Ontario's most popular ski and snowboard family centres. Beginners can take advantage of its excellent learn to ski and snowboard "Discover" programs, and seasoned pros can join its incredible racing teams. Snowbunnies will love its après ski experience at the Silvertip Lounge.

If you live in Langley, New Westminster or Vancouver, it's time to visit Cypress Mountain Resort. It's a pristine place to ski or snowboard in the area that features 600 skiable acres, 6 lifts, 2010 vertical feet and 53 runs! Newbies will love it too thanks to the excellent Cypress Mountain Snow School which offers drop-in and multi-day ski and snowboard lessons.

If you live in Winnipeg, there are so many places you can ski and snowboard nearby. We highly recommend Holiday Mountain which is located in La Riviere, Manitoba. Getting there takes an hour and a half by car from Winnipeg, but it's well worth the effort. The park features 11 runs and 4 lifts and an excellent terrain park. It also features a fabulous slope for beginners and is totally kid-friendly.

You're a bit spoiled for choice when it comes to skiing and snowboarding near Montreal. Cross-country skiers can enjoy their sport right in town on the snowy paths of Mont Royal. If you're into downhill skiing and snowboarding, we highly recommend visiting Bromont. It's the closest mountain to Montreal. One of the coolest things about it is that it offers night skiing! It's really easy to travel to as it's under an hour away from downtown.

If you live in North York, you can easily reach Earl Bales Ski and Snowboard Centre. The centre offers an array of programs for all levels -- from beginners to expert skiers and snowboarders. It's kid-friendly, too!
